Camp Wishing Tree – Summer Week Class Themes

CAMP WISHING TREE Summer Weekdays…………10-11 a.m.
Enhance your summer fun without a commitment or expensive camp! We offer drop in opportunities each day throughout the summer to explore create, learn and play at The Wishing Tree Play Cafe. Perfect for parents, sitters, grandparents, play dates and mom meet-ups….You relax while we entertain. Leave the clean-up to us!

Free Classes with Admission!  With our expanded space, everyone can have more fun! We host complimentary enrichment classes, including weekly music, art, Dino Club, Princesses, story-time and more included with your paid admission!

Music and Movement – Instructor Zippy
Children of all ages enjoy dancing and singing songs. Join us at the Wishing Tree Play Café for Music and Movement. Enrich your little ones love for music, and get the wiggles out in a fun family friendly class. Parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 3. 

Story Time
On Mondays and Fridays (and throughout the week) we will host a storytime during open play. We will also be bringing in local authors to read from the books as well as hosting book launches. Watch our events and facebook pages for what’s happening!

Princess Playdate–Pretty Princess Parties MN
Calling all princess fans! Join us every other Tuesday for a little magical fun. Each class a new Princess from Pretty Princess Parties MN will join us at the Wishing Tree Play Cafe and instruct this enrichment class that is sure to please both the young and young at heart. Our princess will teach your children manners, and proper social adequate, along with sharing a story and craft. *Parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 3.

Prehistoric Pals Dino Club
Boys and girls alike are so captivated by dinosaurs. Come join our weekly Prehistoric Pals Dino Club, and let your child’s Imagination stand the test of time. Your children will learn all about the large enthralling extent reptiles. Dive into the engrossing prehistoric world of Dinos on our Dino Pals Tuesdays! *Parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 3.

Arts & Crafts
Leave the messy stuff to us! Whether it’s fine motor skills building a craft project, or enriching little minds with painting, our arts and crafts day will provide your wee one with a creative challenge to take home. *Parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 3.

Garden Club…..June 5th-9th
A world of wonder awaits your family at The Wishing Tree Play Café’s Garden Club. Come dig in the dirt and explore the art of gardening. For the first week of June, we’ll feature a new flowering plant, vegetable, or fruit daily. Come “grow” together and explore!

Construction Jam…..June 12th-16th
Join us to build your child’s imagination with all things construction. We will artistically craft projects that really “dig” into children’s creativity.Everything that Glows…..June 19th-23rd
Illuminate your child’s imagination, see the glow in their eyes, and explore the wonder of making light-up creations together.

Safety First…..June 26th-30th
Putting Safety First is a Wishing Tree best practice. For the final week of June, we’ll dig a little deeper into teaching our kiddos about the helpers who keep our community safe, growing and vibrant.

Proud To Be An American…..July 3-7th (Closed July 4th)
Join The Wishing Tree Play Café in celebrating our nation’s independence with hands-on projects that cultivate our imaginations while honoring the United States of America!

Under the Sea…..July 10th-14th
Dip your toes into Camp Wishing Tree during the second week of July. Dive in deep with us to learn all about the amazingly intriguing creatures who live in our oceans.
Space is the Place…..July 17th-21st
We’re shooting for the stars during our week dedicated to exploration of outer space. Rocket to the moon and back with a lineup of creative projects that teach us all about our solar system, planets and stars.

Eric Carle Club…..July 24th-28th
Do you love Eric Carle books as much as we do? Join us this week as we celebrate The Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear and others with story time and an Eric Carle-inspired craft to accompany each day’s special book.

Weather Or Not…..July 31st-Aug. 4th
As Minnesotans, we all know the weather can be unpredictable! We enjoy the very best of spring, summer, fall and winter, while having to be ever-adapting to the freezing temps, rain, sun, snow, sleet, heat and everything in between. This week we’ll learn about the different weather conditions and seasons here in the North Star State. We can’t predict what the weather will be like the first week of Aug., but one thing is for sure…it will be cool at the Play Café!

Famous Artists…..Aug. 7th-11th
Are you bringing up a budding Pablo Picasso or the next Vincent van Gogh? Spend mornings at the Play Café studying some of the world’s fine art masters. Kids will recreate some of their famous masterpieces to add to your curated collection of works!

Gone Fishing!…..Aug. 14th-18th
We’re bobbing with anticipation for the fun and learning opportunities we’re reeling in this week. Troll on in to help us wrap-up Camp Wishing Tree’s summer-long run with fish stories, creative crafts and more. Come catch a good time!

Princess on the Patio, Specific Fridays 6-7 p.m. 
Visit with one of our most prestigious princess pals Friday nights at The Wishing Tree’s brand-new patio and outdoor play area. Each Friday, a different princess from Pretty Princess Parties MN joins us for meet & greets and story time! Friday nights, 6-7 p.m. June 30, July 14 & 28, and August 11

The Wishing Tree Play Cafe and Tri Fitness are partnering up with PowerUp – a community-wide youth health initiative to make better eating and active living easy, fun, and popular, so that our youth can reach their full potential – to bring you an 8-week program designed to help youth learn about duathlon, triathlon, training, and nutrition.

When: Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. This 8-week program begins June 14th, 2017.

Week 3 (6/28) – Biking Nutrition/Games at Wishing Tree

Week 4 (7/5) – Bike Race at Tri Fitness
Choice of 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile Race nutrition provided by Wishing Tree (Snack provided)

Week 5 (7/12) – Duathlon Nutrition/Games at Wishing Tree
Nutrition provided by Bear Power (Snack provided)

Week 6 (7/19) – Duathlon at Tri Fitness
Choice of (1) ¼ mile run ½ mile bike ¼ mile run; (2) ½ mile run 1 mile bike ½ mile run, or (3) 1 mile run, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run Race nutrition provided by Wishing Tree (Snack provided)

Week 7 (7/26) – Triathlon Nutrition/Games at Wishing Tree

Week 8 (Aug 2) – Triathlon at West Park

Wishing Tree Teen Open Mic Nights 
A safe, fun environment for teens to showcase their talents! Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Music goes 7-9 p.m. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. Open to all ages 17 & under. 14 & under must be accompanied by an adult. House guitar and keyboard will be provided.  June 8, 22, July 13, 27, and August 10
